Quick question, and I could be wrong here...

I am working on a mod right now of 1.5.1 and I don't see why the !isset commands are in the modsettings file. If the defaults are inserted when the database is set up then this is redundant. Go ahead and flame me if I'm wrong here! I know it wont save much on bandwith, but I thought I would ask.

It's a security precaution just in case something goes wrong with the submission of the form. It'll ensure the values in the database won't get voided, resulting in forum functions getting inpredictable.

Is RC39 an official release candidate yet or are we still on 38?

I'm trying to install the lates beta from scratch (i.e. full version) and I've got as far as step 4, and get this error:

Warning: fopen("/home/sites/site4/web/yabbse1/yse151.sql", "r") - No such file or directory in /home/sites/site4/web/yabbse1/install.php on line 233

I don't have a copy of yse151.sql - where can I get this file? I take it it contains all instructions for setting up the database tables.

The file that was part of the download package was called yse151.ya - but no yse151.sql.

Thanks,
Jim

How can I give it some manual assistance? Is there an alternative copy of the sql file I can use?

Thanks,
Jim

Make sure the folder has write permissions.

So is there no way I can manually install Yabbse? Is there anyone willing to send me a copy of the yse151.sql file? I assume the file is being created successfully by other users?

Thanks - your help is appreciated.

Either wait for Unknown to help or download 1.4.1 and do a safe mode install.  Then upgrade to 1.5.1.
