Hello i own one of your fantastic forums and i think they are fabolus. I do have one problem. On the 'Edit Member groups' page there are a list and they are admin and global mod and mod etc.. But when i Modify a user i can only make them a Global Moderator, and not a Moderator. I dont know wether there is any difference a mod and a global mod has but i still would like to know what is going wrong, if anything is going wrong...

Anyone help me?

You can't assign this title to a member, you can only define a moderator in the admin area -> edit boards.

A moderator only has moderator privileges on the board you assign the member to. A global moderator, as the word global implies, has moderator privileges for the entire forum.

If you would like, you can add the global moderator center mod to give them a few more functions.

READ THE REPLIES!

We just answered this question.  Yes.  Go to manage boards and assign them.

If you want them to have a member group, MAKE ONE.  I do this at my board, and all my mods are assigned to the "Forum Moderator" group.

Ok, like this:

1. In the Edit Member Group there are:

    YaBB Administrator:  Administrator
    Global Moderator:  Global Moderator
    Moderator:  Moderator
    YaBB Newbie:  ....
YaBB Jr. Poster (over 50 posts):  ....
YaBB Full Poster (over 100 posts):  ....
YaBB Sr. Poster (over 250 posts):  ....
YaBB God (over 500 posts):  ....
Additional member groups (one per line): ....

2. I want to change a member from normal user to Moderator position.

3. I click this user name and modify.

4. I scroll down at the bottom and select at the dropdown menu.

5. In this drop down menu only have Administrator and Global Moderator. Where goes Moderator as stated above?

Go to Admin -> Edit Boards (reorder/create/remove). Type the names of the Moderator(s) in the text boxes in the middle column of the main table (under the heading 'Moderator') and click 'Modify'! ::)

No, like this:

    YaBB Administrator:  Administrator
    Global Moderator:  Global Moderator
    YaBB Newbie:  ....

Additional member groups (one per line): Moderator

Change their member group AND assign them to the board they are to moderate in the manage boards admin section. (same place you make them.)

And we ALREADY COVERED THIS - IN THIS TOPIC NO LESS!!! Why are you asking again??

Calm down, maybe they don't speak english and are having trouble understanding?   ;)

I think there's confusion between assigning the person as a mod just for the board (in which case you don't need to modify their profile at all) or adding additional user groups with particular permissions (which would require a mod).
