Fix to problems with Free hosting on lycos.co.uk

I'm now using Lycos as a "test" site because I want to "supermod" a board but don't want to do it to my main board, and 1.51 still does the same thing. You post, you get directed to the main lycos.co.uk page. They really need to fix that there. Oh well.

Code Select Expand

../forumdir as the board location.

Now still got problems with some »header« errors ...

in Admin|Allgemeine ...|Eintrag 14: »Forum URL« steht bei mir jetzt ../yabbse, dann ging's plötzlich. Ich hab immer noch viele Header-Fehlermeldungen beim Senden von IM, manchmal auch beim Posten. Liegt das auch irgendwie an Lycos?

Ich hab das Board (1.5.0) seit Freitag. Installiert erst bei lycos.de, dann testweise lycos.fr jeweils Nicht-Safe-Mode.
Bis zur url-Änderung ständig Lycos nach dem Posten, immer noch vereinzelt Header-Fehlermeldungen, fast nie FTP-Zugriff und jetzt gerade gar kein Zugriff auf die mySQL-Datenbank (also auch grad kein Forum).
Macht also insgesamt keinen so guten Eindruck.

Wie hast Du denn installiert, damit es läuft?
Kennst Du alternative FreeSpace-Hoster mit PHP/MySQL?

ftp mit lycos hat bis jetzt keine probleme gemacht.

Board-mäßig bin ich eher laie und hab kA, ob ich safe-mode habe oder nicht.

Zu mysql kann ich dir sagen, dass das problem bei meinem board seit gestern abend auch besteht, aber das liegt definitiv an mysql - also weder an lycos noch an der board-software.

post 35 by n00B on this thread provides all the information you need to solve the redirection problem.

You simply need to alter the code in 2 seperate php files....

index.php

and

subs.php

post 35 tells you what code to search for and what code to replace it with. The original mod was for an earlier version of Yabbse and no longer works. post 35 solves the problem for the latest release.

edit....i've just re-read post 35 and the code is identical to the original mod, however, there have been slight changes to the later version of Yabbse and the code needs a small modification....

e.g.the searched for code in index.php is

$dbcon = mysql_connect($db_server, $db_user, $db_passwd) or die(mysql_error());

so........' die(mysql_error()' ......  has been added......!

you can do either......tripod has an editing facility that allows you to modify the code.......I. personally used dreamweaver to edit on my PC and then I uploaded the amended code.....I think the tripod facility is limited (no search/replace).....
