Integrated Chat v.3
Download HereThis is an irc mod that uses a private irc server run by
everywherechat.com. The owner of the server Brodle and I have been working together and he has offered to host all the irc servers for YaBB. It is fast, free, and best of all uses none of your bandwith!
Features:
1. Automatically logs users on with their forum name (not their login name) plus an _forumname. This name is up to you to choose. Since everyone will be using the same server this will prevent any conflicts. If the user had a space in their forum name it will be replaced with an underscore.
2. Displays the users who are online on the forum underneath number of messages (though it can be moved).
3. Displays the number of users currently in the chat room.
4. The chat room can be access via any irc program as well and those users will still show up on the whose chatting on the forums page!
5. You can list the number of users and who is using your chat on any page on your website.
Note: PLEASE BACK UP FIRST!! This is a first beta mod!
Even though there are very few steps please do this. Please read the mod file carefully. Please post your results here.
Currently users can double click on their name once they log in to register with nickserv.
***** Make sure to double click in the channel to set yourself and your other forum mods up as room moderators.
Future Updates:
1. It is very possible to set this up to automatically register users accounts with the servers nickserv automatically.
2. Writing an addon that will take the logged in usernames, dump them to a file and remove the forum name add-on so that it will no appear at the top of your forum.
3. Brodle is working on upgrading the server so that your room can be invisible and still list the users in the room on your forum. Currently if you set it to invisible then your users will not be listed on your forum.
If you are interested in helping out with these updates let me know.
If you have any questions about the chat program itself you can contact Brodle via email at
[email protected] or by going to the support room on the server, by typing /join #support
