Could you not move the yytop and yybottom (for the <yabb top> and <yabb bottom> tags) into an separate file? This will be much more easy editing.

AND/OR

It's easy to make a seperate file (eg topbottom.php) with the information of the top and bottom code.

This last one I realized myself, where I seperated the top and bottom by |^|
but I am very afraid of editing the original YSE code and screwing up my forum so I am afraid to do the first thing
