Ok I just wanna start off by saying it was more than likely me, but...after I installed this mod & ended up with nothing that was Collapsable.

Given that u are the first to mention it I would think that it is more than likley you or your board

More information plz! Did the boardmod install conflict? Have you gone to the forum settings and prefs page and adjusted any settings?

I found it on the Italian site, & it exactly what I had in mind........

They are simply using different buttons for the expand/collapse. You could upload the same images as expanded.gif and collapsed.gif and your board will look the same.

Is this a cruel joke & I was the last to get it???Or  is my mod 1/2 installed& I never did have it??

what do you think?

sorry if this mod isn't what you're after - its simple, small and worked for me and a bunch of others.

Yes I did get some errors on step 5 & 7.
I do have the "Add Different Category Icons" mod installed. But even if I uninstall it, I still get an error on step 5 that is...
search for

  dude that is a huge change to category selection!

sorry but i am going to put this one on the 'too hard' basket - i would have to install the same mods you have and create a work around in the code to suit, which I am just not going to do (no time I am afraid)

this is a perfect example of a boardmod install working (with a bit of modification) but the mod won't work in runtime due to the way in which your boardindex operates.

sorry if someone else wants to write a compatible version then feel free - email it to me and i'll host it.

Perhaps try Vory's version of the mod (grab it from the new mods page)

Ok I upgraded to 1.41 and installed your mod. it works like a charm, thanks a million.  


now if there was onny a way to get it to be collapsed by default. I think I'll add a login to my homepage, this way the user is logged in when they start...How to do this I dont know:(

Ok apart from the above step I can confirm this mod is compatable with the following provided you add the above step in manually by searching for the end of the string (the board ID part)

and adding in two carriage returns and then the mod script.

I have a problem I installed this mod great it worked a charm UNTILL.

I started adding and removing catagories once I did this I was confronted with an error invalid mysql resource.

Is this due to the fact the database is only ammended for what sections are there when the mod is installed?

I can put up the part of my PhP where it says they error is but I am lead to beleive its a Dbase problem because it only occurs when I try to collapse boards not when they are all expanded.

If anyone gets the error I described simply expand all and mark all as read and then it will work.  It is a rare bug and probably to do with how heavilly modded our board is.  This is indeed a great mod.

1.5 compatible version included in the zip. Let me know if there are any problems.

As a mod maker let me just say that I was amazed at the differences from 1.4.1 to 1.5 - it took quite awhile to convert this relatively simple mod

I tried to install this mood but i can't. At step 5, it says it cannot find this string:

The forum's version is 1.5.1
and the BoardMod 1.1(?)

I tried to intergrate this with the New BoardIndex & MessageIndex look by Spaceman-Spiff but it didn't work    

Oh well, I guess you can't have everything, I will stick with the BoardIndex look!

This mod went in great into my board SE1.5.1
However, i also have "Allowed user Mod 1.2.151rc1 by Daniel Volk installed.

I have found that when a member has just normal access this mod works fine. But when I give access to a member to a private board, everytime they collaspe they get this error

2: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource
(/home/.sites/58/site34/web/forum/Sources/BoardIndex.php ln 250)

I find I can get this to stop showing the error by unchecking the "Show 'new' icon at end of category name when collapsed" box in the mod settings.

Any clues on the best way to solve this problem, as I feel that having the new icon is really needed.
