Recount board totals in the admin center. I am not sure if it recounts the members posts though...

With your admin user you can edit the member profile and modify the post count.

Because I restored my member table from a backup that was a week and half old... the counts are wrong.

Isnt there a more automatic way?

I can just about cope with doing a query on on table, I have no idea how I would count the number of posts for each member in the message table and then update this in the member table.

Any bored SQL peeps out there??  ;D

I have tried to do this... failed each time!!

I need to count the total number of posts a member has done (message table) and then update the member table with this new total.

Driving me nuts!!! (well more nuts!!)

You'd need to write a neat little script to do that. Would have to cycle through the members list, check through the messages table counting their posts, and then updating their members record.

Wouldn't it basically be this.

psuedo code
Get number of rows in member table
While not at end select member id
SELECT something from {$prefix}messages WHERE (poster = 'this member's id');
$num_posts = mysql_numrows(that last query)
UPDATE {$prefix}messages SET posts = $num_posts WHERE (member_id = 'member's id')
