I tried to install it with the package mod...

any ideas?

Did you try to install the mod to a fresh board? You probably tried to install it to a board which has other mods installed. The up and down mod for one adds something to that part of the board.

You are correct.  I didnt install it to a fresh board.  i installed it into a plain ol already active yabbse board.  no additional mods involved though.. is there any way to add smilie additional options without starting all over with a new board?

If you haven't got any other mods working on the board you can just download the safe mode version of the board and copy the ModSettings.php from it and then try to install the smilies mod. I think it was ModSettings.php file where that line was you are having problems with

The cheek! There is absolutly nothing wrong with my mod, as it installs easily for everyone else.
The reason that srting wasn't found was because of another mod most likely editing it.
That particular string should never be editied, arrays are easy to add to, like I did in my mod.

Otherwsie just search in modsettings.php for a similar line, and replace it with the one in the file. The boardmod file

Get boardmod in the package creation forum, its one of the sticky topics methinks.

That came directly as part of the error code, not something i personalyl added.  I cut and pasted the error message and this was just part of it.

If you would like to try to install it yourself let me know i will be glad to meet you at my board and see if we can get it running and if i am missing something.
It looks like a great mod and something fun for my community.  

or  I will try the safe mod idea from above.

Hey Big P, after you finsih with your Advanced Avatars mod, are you gonna update the smilies mod so its like the news version of the CGI one? For an example go here - http://rpgcyco.maxispace.net/cgi-bin/YaBB/YaBB.pl I like the new system of displaying smilies better

well , installation help:

- To install with BoardMod SE, place Smilies.php in your sources directory, and smiliesdbmod.php in your main directory (with settings.php). Execute smiliesdbmod.php by going to it in your browser. This will create the necessary MySQL tables. Now, delete the file. Finally install Smilies.mod with BoardMod, and upload the modified files

It means run the Smilies.mod with BoardMod SE and then upload the new .php files the BoardMod SE made which have the Smilies mod changes in them.

I have one question,  I manually installed this mod and it all works well, except for the settings are never saved.  I goto the Admin page and then click on "Installed 'Mods' Settings and Options" and each time I go, the check boxes are unchecked and the textboxes are empty, even though I keep changing them and saving.  I realize I screwed up somewhere during the install, and I could fix it by redoing it, but does anyone recognize this error and know what needs done to fix it?

Thanks for doing this mod.  I really enjoy it.
