Be my guest :)

YSE team fixes the security holes ASAP. If that's not enough for you... c-u later :)
All boards has security holes... no exception. and all boards has bugs that need to be fixed when are a lot of them...

The changes should be so small that should impact mods le less possible.

Quotewhat does that index.html say?
something like this?

Actually, it was blank and white, except for:

owned by itr ^_^

I don't actually even know when it was hacked. I don't even know if they came through before the forum was updated. I don't know whether they came through the server, or YaBB, or up the U-bend in the toilet.

Btw - I have no problems with Yabb SE, whatever whenever. I'm simply anxious because on this day that I was hacked (for the first time) the server CPanels for my site are acting screwy and spitting out blank .zips - and I really need to back-up my forum dbs. I'm in the middle of a promo, to boot, and don't want to lose any info. Haven't backed-up for eleven days - my bad.

install phpmyadmin, and do the dump from there...

or if you have ssh, you can backup for urself.

use this script to backup, someone passed it to me :P

#! /bin/sh

DATESTAMP=`date +%m-%d-%Y-%H%M`

#backup and tar bn_website database
mysqldump -u <YOUR USER> -p <YOUR PASSWORD> -B <DATABASE> > ./$DATESTAMP-db.sql
tar -czf ./$DATESTAMP-db.sql.tar.gz ./$DATESTAMP-db.sql
rm -f ./$DATESTAMP-db.sql

and you will backup your DB.
In case you are out of quota space... it'll display a message.

I recommend you simply use the YaBBpak file from the package server here.

Open up your YaBBpak Center, go to Download, and put:

yabbse.org Bugs
http://www.yabbse.org/packages/bugs

Under "add new server" and hit okay.  Select that server, and then pick the "upgrade" package.

Hit download and then back, back.

Go to browse packages, and select the yabbse_1-5-2_upgrade.mod.yp file.

Then just follow the okay/apply/nexts and you'll be done ;).

I would like to update/upgrade my forum to 1.5.2, which file should I use?

QuoteYou can find an update from the previous bugfix here:
http://www.yabbse.org/unknown/mods/yabbse_1-5-2_update.mod
And an upgrade from without the 1.5.1 bugfix here:
http://www.yabbse.org/unknown/mods/yabbse_1-5-2_upgrade.mod

And one more question, maybe is stupid, which is the difference of "update" and "upgrade"? :)

Did you apply the bugfix posted here earlier?  If so, use the update.

If it's just 1.5.1.... use upgrade.
