Well that's almost what I get Doesn't add smileys in the 'add more smiley's admin section, and when I go through manually to add smileys, it gets the text in the box, but doesn't show the image

Oh well. Guess it's best to just wait for the new version

Have you tried a completely fresh install with boardmod? Have you removed the smilies table from your mysql database, and re added it with smiliesdbmod.php?
If it doesn't work after that then I haven't a clue, it should all work fine..

All I can say, is it finally works!@!

It was the earlier problem I said, the tables yabbse_smilies already existing. I'd only run the mod once, when it said that. Somewhere down the line, there was a table in mysql/phpmyadmin, that was already there, and that was what was causing the problem. Delete the table, ran the smilyesdb.php-thingie, and now it works!

heh, I knew that was the problem, I had already fixed someone elses board who had that problem.  
The new smilies mod has a new smiliesdbmod.php file, so it's easy to upgrade from past versions, and remove tables without the need of something like phpmyadmin.   I still have the same old problem with it though! How many people use the news script with the smilies mod installed? You may need to auto set a variable if I can't find another way to globalize $modSettings on your news page...

ok. I download pack and unpacked it. Copy smilles.mod.yp in my Packages directory and run it from  YaBBpak center in my Admin Center. But have this error:
fopen("././Packages/modification.php", "wb") - Permission denied
(/var/www/htdocs/yyphp/Sources/Packer.php ln 125)
I have no this files   What can i do to fix it ?

How did you download it?! If I click the link that was in the original posting, it tells me the host is down. Maybe there's another link in the 24 (!) pages of follow-ups, but then again: if so many people need help with it, a newbie like me probably should leave the mod alone all together

My sites up again. Must of been my host.
If you're a newbie, install the mod via boardmod not the yabbpak. It's a piece of piss that way. People are looking for trouble using the unwieldy yabbpak version.

Okay I have tried ALL day to get this working, and the best I can do is get the admin control panel to say Add More Smileys, when I click on it, everything looks fine but down the bottom there is this:

An Error Has Occurred!
2: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource

I'm not a computer whizz, I downloaded boardmod and installed it from there, then I was stuck so I re-uploaded basically everything that I had downloaded and modified, was that wrong? Again, help me outttttt

I fixed it and it's all working well now, guess I'm not so bloody dumb after all.
