it seems that i have a problem and i can't make any sence of it.

i succesfully installed the smile mod and i added some smilies
that worked to.
butt when i post my reply it will only say this

How did you install the smilies mod? By hand, yabbpak, boardmod.. I need some information you know.

No. You just saw the reason why you were getting errors, you didn't apply the changes correctly. Use Boardmod, that's all I can say. Don't fiddle with stuff unless your sure you know what your doing.

It's an error that sometimes comes up if you install it with the pak manager. Try to install it with BoardMod, it works fine !

every time i try to install with Boardmod i get an error in step 9 and 11 conserning Post.php. Thats why i tried the pak manager.

It seems Boardmod is having problems finding what is should replace/add in Post.php

Bah. Tried installing it via boardmod, but didn't work. Boardmod did the exact same thing I did, went through and changed the files exactly how it is. I knew I wasn't doing anything wrong with that

Ah well. I wonder if having the error of 'table already exists' when I run smiliesdbmod.php would cause it.. *shrug*

Anyways, I uninstalled this mod. I'll wait for the next version to come out before I mess with it again.

Jebus H Vishnu. This is the last time I'm going to answer this. The LAST 2 steps in the yabbpak file (the subs.php part) sometimes aren't done. So you will have to install them manually. Download your subs.php and make the 2 changes.

Ah well. I wonder if having the error of 'table already exists' when I run smiliesdbmod.php would cause it.. *shrug*

Don't run smiliesdbmod.php more than once! You're adding duplicate tables to your SQL and that may have an effect on on/off options for the mod. What I reccommend is your remove your Smilies Table with phpmyadmin or whatever, and then re create it with smiliesdbmod.php, I know someone else who had a similar problem.

That has to be the stupidist thing I've ever read. I never asked you to install the mod; do or don't do it, I won't lose any sleep over it.
As stated so many times, Smilies SE should be installed on a clean YaBB SE, it's one of the biggest mods available and therefore has to change a lot of code. Other mods may change the same code, and that's what the Mod Team will do when our BoardMod is set up. Try make mods compatible. I can't tell you what other mods change. So I'm saying this:
If this mod won't install for you with boardmod (getting string not found errors) then you've modified your files. And it's up to you to decide what you want to do.

After installing the smiles using YaBBPack and creatomg the new mySql table it didn't work going back through the installation i found it didn't carry ou the last instruction.
It found the search string but didnt put in the code.
Thought you might like to know if you don't already

Urgh, could somebody edit his post, and put it all in one big code and /code post? I'm quite certain all of his codes in there are purely accidental..

What he posted, I've been talking about in the last few posts. All modifications to Subs.php with the yabbpak version aren't installing, due to a yabbpak error.
Just open smilies.mod, and manually add the last 2 steps.  1979Z28, this doesn't affect you, it for people who get the code of their smiley in a post, not their image.
