multiple users and messages keep comming. I just downloaded the new upgrade-zip and uploaded all the files to the webserver. Ran upgrade.php and got:

Fix to stop duplication of identity...Data inserted successfully!

Error: MySQL said:

BLOB column 'identity' can't be used in key specification with the used table type

Fixing Settings.php...

Everytime I do something on the forum my name is added in the line off online users. When reading a topic all messages of myself are copied the same amoount of times in the tread. It's getting confusing.. :P Is there a sulution?

I'm sorry.  The fix only works in newer versions of MySQL.  We are considering solutions for previous versions, and will have a fix as soon as possible.

Thank you,

Quote from: Webby on January 22, 2003, 02:10:09 PMNow I'm kind of reluctant to use the upgrade(.php), so I would like to put the excisting contents of my tables into the newly mad tables by v1.5.1Rc1

One of the reasons is, that I have heaps of mods on my board built in, and I would like to start with "clean" tables.

Another reasons is that I don't want to lose any data, and want to do the conversion quick and clean without being offline too long.

Now I've asked Compuart to help me out, and he made something for me to get started with, but I don't want to bug him now, because he's very busy with his own website.

Maybe there are more people who want a script like this ?

It should read out ONLY the rows/columns (?) that are useful for the new database, and put all data directly into it.  Perhaps in chunks of 100 or 1000 at a time, because of time-outs that could occur ?

In phpmyadmin it is possible to duplicate tables, so I could manage it that way, but I wanted to ask this here, so maybe some other people could be helped with it.

I want to upgrade a.s.a.p. because this Rc1 version rulezzz !

Seems like nobody paid attention to my question, but no worries : Compuart made a script for me, and I made the other scripts to convert my tables :)

I only have one question :

Table {prefix}log_boards
Table {prefix}log_errors
Table {prefix}log_mark_read
and
Table {prefix}log_topics ....

....have "memberName" instead of "ID_MEMBER in it.  Is it possible to put the contents of the old "ID_MEMBER" into the new table "memberName" or what ?

The structures :

old :

CREATE TABLE old_log_boards (
  memberName tinytext NOT NULL,
  ID_BOARD int(11) NOT NULL default '0',
  logTime bigint(20) default NULL,
  KEY ID_BOARD (ID_BOARD)
) TYPE=MyISAM PACK_KEYS=1;

new :

CREATE TABLE new_log_boards (
  ID_MEMBER mediumint(8) unsigned NOT NULL default '0',
  ID_BOARD smallint(5) unsigned NOT NULL default '0',
logTime int(10) unsigned NOT NULL default '0',
  PRIMARY KEY  (ID_BOARD,ID_MEMBER)
) TYPE=MyISAM;

Thanx in advance ;)

I didn't really quite understand what it was that you wanted.

Quote from: Webby on January 23, 2003, 12:47:41 PMI only have one question :

Table {prefix}log_boards
Table {prefix}log_errors
Table {prefix}log_mark_read
and
Table {prefix}log_topics ....

....have "memberName" instead of "ID_MEMBER in it.  Is it possible to put the contents of the old "ID_MEMBER" into the new table "memberName" or what ?

This is PRECISELY what upgrade.php does.  Even if you won't run it, at least take a look at it and execute the statements you want.  (Warning: it does it in a roundabout manner.)

I changed it - less round-about now...
