QuoteThat would work.  Wonder if a double extension would have any bad effeects with the search engines, though?

I don't know, but I doubt it...

this seems like the best way to do it, so far... first I thought of changing the extension to "-rw.htm" but that would mess up the links that don't have the $start value too

t123-15-rw.htm would work, but t123-rw.htm wouldn't, cause it'd want to use "rw" as the $start value... maybe change the line where $start is set at the beginning of index.php into

   $start = (is_numeric($arr['1']) ? $arr['1'] : 0);

Anguz, I've managed to install the version 2.0 last night and I've noticed thta you've just released the version 2.1. Is there sense in upgrading? I've installed the mod manually, so I've spent a lot of time on that..

Well, since the category anchors in your link tree probably no longer work, the Title keyword put garbage into your titles, and Anguz was nice enough to provide a boardmod file containing only the changes from 2.0 to 2.1 (only a few lines), it would probably be a good idea (and only take a few minutes) to upgrade  ;D  :P  ;D

I'm really sorry  :-\ a few posts earlier you'll find the update file dschwab was telling you about

are the keywords working fine now then? I didn't see them in your thread's titles, so I hope you just have them off but they actually work ;D

did you try the the mod_rewrite thing with the double file extension? I searched google on that and it doesn't mention anything on double extensions and it's not something new, so I wouldn't worry about it   :)

Thanks for your reply :). This night I'll install version 2.1 on my test setup. Is that possible to apply the smart urls concept to profile link? It would be quite useful - to have members indexed my google ;D.

well... I don't plan to include it, but if you want to do it, you'd have to add the proper regex and replace url to the arrays and then wrap the profile urls with the smart_url() function

I turned it off because it was putting the file extension in the title, but I haven't upgraded to 2.1 yet.  Only thing I've done since 2.0 is fix the link tree.  Gonna try to put 2.1 on there tonight, so I'll let you know.

Haven't had time yet, but I will.

BTW, are you gonna port this to SMF?  ;D

So can I go ahead and request it?  ;D  :D  ;D

There's actually a "queryless url" option built in, which I've been playing with on my test site, but I don't like it.  The URL's are http://daniel.zuwharrie.com/test/index.php/topic,1580/90

I may be wrong, but commas just don't seem like a good idea  :-\ and there are no keywords  :(

I see... I thought they'd build in that option using pathinfo.. they look cool :)

well... as weird as it may seem, comas in url give no trouble... look http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=site%3Awww.animenfo.com+year

I could write a mod to include keywords though, that is, if they don't do it first, cause these guys are great and keep adding more stuff :)

I haven't looked at how they're generated - I'm assuming output buffering - but it significantly slows things down.  It's not horrible, but things just feel sluggish.  Anytime you click a link, nothing happens for half a second or so.  Turn off the friendly url's, and it's lightning fast.

I don't think it would be too hard to port this over, though, especially with the new template system.

I got 2.1 installed.  The file extension is now gone from the title, but all it shows is the Catagory Keyword.  Is it supposed to show the board Keyword also?

Also, the counter still shows for everyone  :-\

yeah, it's supposed to show the same keywords that are in the url, but in the title... I'll check what's wrong with it

I can't see the counter, so unless you removed it from Subs.php, it's working fine... I did it so it'll always show to the admin even if he has the counter off, but show to others only if it's on

how stupid... I forget to make that var global too

find this line in display.php
      global $kwYabbse, $kwCateg, $boardCat, $kwTitleSep, $currentboard;
and change it to
      global $kwYabbse, $kwCateg, $boardCat, $kwBoard, $kwTitleSep, $currentboard;

sorry  :P

I'll fix the mod file right now... done

did the separator work well? did the keywords with dashes between them, show without them in the title? I'm guessing you're not using a kw for the whole community, so it won't show

It works just like it did before the upgrade.  If I turn it off in the admin center, it's completely gone, and if I turn it on, it's always there :P
