Here is my opinion, (This is what my English Teacher said)
If a word ends in 'Y' and has a vowel preceding the 'Y' you just add 'S' to make the plural (Boy ~ Boys).
If a word ends in 'Y' and has a consonant preceding the 'Y' you change the 'Y' into 'IES' to make the plural (Story ~ Stories).

So thus the plural of Smiliy is Smilys according to The english Language

but I prefer Smilies cos its eaiser to type

Well I think somehow it *does* matter. It was fun for me to discuss this question. The other point is that in school one learns to care for the orthography.

Eww an english lesson.. Spelling & grammer are just about my weakest subject. I personally think the word smilies looks better then smileys.. but I don't care what it looks like so long as I am right!

ok you all may think that this is a dumb comment but: I have downloaded the easter smileys and uploaded them 2 my webspace. How do i get them installed ( I am a newbie to Yabb so no long complex technicall answers pls) is it possible 2 get them 2 display like the ones above ?

well if you upload this smileys in your YaBBImages folder, your "regulary" Smileys will be replaced! This is because the eastermileys use the same filename as the regulary ones!

As mediman wrote, you just upload the smileys into your YaBBImages folder. They will be activated automatically by this, because they will replace the standard smileys. When easter is over, you upload the standard smileys again, and the easter smileys are gone.

When you enter your board right after the upload: in order to see the new smileys after the upload, you might have to press the "reload" button of your browser, because the old smiley images might be cached.

Thanks for the flowers, UD_UL_DeViL. Well I did not change them. The banner is just switching to show sometimes the gold smileys and sometimes the yellow ones. My board template has no blue and green colors, but whithe, yellow and orange. By this the gold color smileys look like "dirty". They are beautiful and perfect smileys, but the color does for reasons I do not understand not fit into my board. For this reason I made 3 easter smiley sets: one in gold and one in plain yellow. And a standard smiley set in plain yellow color (fitting better into my board colors).
