Hello, I haven't yet tried this converter but I have a question.  I converted with the old one and everything was fine except the On and Off images don't show up in board index.  (YaBBimages/on.gif, Yabbimages/Off gif).  I could not understand why and now I saw you saying

QuoteAdded conversion for log_topics, log_boards, log_mark_read boards, so that the new-indicator will still work correctly after converting

Is this about this problem?  Because if it's, I'm gonna try this conveter.

And is there any other way to make that images show up without converting again?  ???

I'd appreciate any help. Thanks very much.

The on- and off-buttons have been added to the language file since YaBB SE1.5.1 Make sure you have an up-to-date language file. This might solve the problem.

Thanks very much Compuart. I was using a non-English lang. file version 1.5.0.   Now I added the modifications and it works like a charm.

Thanks again for the help!  ;D

I noticed that after converting all my SP1.2 members who didn't set their birthdate in their profile all end up in the events list of the board index center as having their birthday with the displayed age being (20)...
Is there any way to prevent people from appearing in the birthday list when they do NOT have it filled out in their profile?
it's sort of cumbersome to see that 45 members are celebrating their "birthday".

I have the same problem D-Man, only I have like 150-200 members who did not enter their birthday, and their age shows as (0), so its much worse.  Thanks for bringing this up. I was trying to find a solution but could not.

Note: I did not use this converter but I guess it's similar.

The easiest way to work around this problem is to convert all these dates to zero by using phpMyAdmin (a nice tool you'd need anyway ;D)

Then entering a query would be enough. Suppose every 'wrong' date was set to 2003-02-18 then a query like this would suffice:
UPDATE yabbse_members SET birthdate='0000-00-00' WHERE birthdate='2003-02-18'

(I'll also look at how the converter can be changed in order to do it right the first time, but am currently too busy for that)

Hi
I am having problems converting from yabb gold to YaBB SE 1.5.1 , i have tried everything i have read on this forum.
Ok, my old board is in my cgi folder and it ends with YaBB.cgi, so i have tried chmoding the directory to 777 and i still cannot get past step 4, it freezes, and this error comes up.

Warning: OpenDir: No such file or directory (errno 2) in /mnt2/users/tamalyn/tamalyn/harry4ever.com/html/yabbse/converter.php on line 380

Warning: readdir(): supplied argument is not a valid Directory resource in /mnt2/users/tamalyn/tamalyn/harry4ever.com/html/yabbse/converter.php on line 382

I am assuming i have done well to get this far, i just cannot understand the error!
I have tried everything, and this is the 2nd time i have tried to convert, and I really need to do it, as yabb gold is costing me a bomb!

I am kind of a newbie with php, but have got phpmyadmin up, can i manually do it?
Or any ideas about my errors, if you do, can you please write it in newbie language, as i never seem to understand otherwise.

Thanks for any help

I am still trying to convert the board, I now have a friend who does lots of php, and he cannot figure out why it is not working. It seems to be saying that the file path is wrong, but we cannot figure out the right path!

You say that, but I'm the one struggling with foreign language.

You aren't really stupid, you just didn't know.

Hello everyone,

I am in the process of trying to convert a YABB Gold SP 1.1 to YABBSE 1.5.1

The only mod installed on my YABB Gold board is a POLL mod.

I did a completely fresh install of YABBSE with no issues.  I then ran the converter again, no issues.  However when it hits step 4 (the actual conversion) it just keeps going and going without any apparent progress.  I have let this run for over an hour and nothing is being written to the MySQL DB.  I get no error messages or warnings?

Anyone have any idea whats up?  I have about 1200 members and about 350 posts.

I also tried making a backup of my yabb board and then using the admin console to delete all but the admin from the user list thinking there was just to much data to crunch.  When I ran the converter, the same thing happens.

Any ideas, suggestions, abuse, anything at all would be most welcome.

Thanx,
Necranom
