from what I've seen so far, ttcms seems to have the most features and has a lot going for it, like here: http://www.ttcms.com/modules/ajDocsPro/index.php?op=view&t=2 ... do all the other CMSs offer these features as well?  Why is it that YaPP is so much more popular?

to be honest, I've often wondered the same thing.

marketting and advertising ;)

And usability, from what I've been told it's not the easiest to use, that's (again from what I've been told) been one of YaPP's major advantages.

I've tried installing ttCMS to my 1.5.1 BEta of YaBB and seemed have a parse error in my settings.php everytime I try. Is ttCMS even compatible with 1.5.1? I checked their modules and only saw a database upgrade from 1.4 to 1.5 (YaBB). Anyone get ttCMS to work on their 1.5.1 installation of YaBB?

Have you asked Andy of ttCMS yet if it's ready for 1.5.1? I am not sure if it's updated as he may be waiting for something final...

From Andy.....

ttCMS is running a modified version of YaBB SE v1.5.0.

YaBB SE v.1.5.1 is not released yet. The current status is still as a Release Candidate (currently at Built 40).

We've had enough problems with the forum code that we aren't chasing the latest versions. Once 1.5.1 is released, I'll probably still wait a few weeks to make sure the code is stable.

Have you thought of using PfaBB? Or are you already using ttCMS in some sort of capacity?

I'm not using any of them at the momnet. I looked at pfabb and it didn't appeal to me. I like the structure of ttCMS and will simply wait until it's compliant with 1.5.1

Quoteand which of this portals is the best
every of these portals has plusses and minusses
it's better if u check the demo/site for each and decide which one suits you the best
even better if u can try them all before deciding

* Michele blushes

Thanks guys! I'm having fun tweaking YaPP into the new PfaBB, and we've finally got a Dev Team so I'm not doing it solo anymore!

Thanks, Michele

Are we voting for PfaBB.  I'll put a vote in.  I installed it yesterday and everything was la shmoove.  The only thing it lacks on my sight is someone that knows how to administer it.   :o
