Hmmmm... well yes, I actually DO understand that. But do YOU understand that my board is very small and non-public... and usually only has 6 or 7 people on it?
What exactly is the difference between using this feature for such a small amount of users and not using it- but reaching for a larger amount of users?
When people post threads asking for advice on how to get new users, should I jump into those discussions and warn that the messageindex has 20 queries- so they SHOULDN'T try to get more members and put a load on the server?
Every board, its needs, and its overall patterns are different. Maybe you might prefer to use those extra 10 queries as half of what a new member might use... but I prefer to use them to give my small amount of members a perk that they find very useful.
