Great mod, works fine on 1.5.4!!!

Just one thing though, I had a similar mod running on my old YaBB 1 Gold SP 1.1 board that had an option in the admin centre to view a log of members accepted, and which admin had accepted them.

Any possibilities of an addition to cover this?

It's a shame it may never see the light of day on YaBBSE, but I took your advice and went to look at SMF - got to say, it looks like an admins dream come true, if it lives up to even half of what is claimed, then I won't have creamed myself for nothing :-[.

Is there anyway to keep accepted members in a table somewhere...
I am making everyone apply with their real name in the message section.. I would like to be able to keep a list of these so when someone on my board does something i can check the application list and find their real name and stuff...

i think it will be better if you add the real name in members table instead of keeping the applicant table
you'll need to create a new column in the table and add some codes into Admin.php in the application mod function and maybe Profile.php too

could this mod be tweaked to say an application to join a membergroup, and then a 'membergroup admin' could accept or reject? like instead of on regesteration, have a place where it lists membergroups, and peeps can apply to join them.

i think an easier way is to create a new thread for applications and let people reply there or tell them to send an IM to one of the admins
this mod is made for those who are -not- yet registered in the forums

YaBB SE Version: 1.5.4
PHP Version: 4.3.2
MySQL Version: 4.0.x
Server Platform: Unix, Linux, or BSD
Link to Forum:

Problem Description:
I have the new applicants mod installed, which e-mails me to let me know, that someone is interested in joining.

This works brilliantly, however the corresponding e-mail that is sent to the applicant, showing them their username and password has a glitch.

As an example E-mail

Welcome, lily!

Your username is:  lily

and your password is 15FZeaHsot

You may change it after you log in by going to the profile page, or by visiting this page after you log in: http://www.mjvisual.co.uk/plant/index.php?action=profile;user=lily

Regards,
The Plant-Traders team.

Basicaly the link does not work.

When the user clicks on the link, it takes them to this page with this message -

An Error Has Occurred!

You are not allowed to change this person's profile.

I have tried looking for the piece of code that generates the link, with no success.

Can someone out there tell me what to modify, so that the link jumps to the login page, or just tell me how to remove the link.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Regards Alan

Well, technically it does work, when you're logged in...which is what the email says. ;) The link is created in Register.php, taking the text from english.lng. It's this line:         sendmail($member['email'], "$txt[700] $mbname", "$txt[248] $member[user]!\n\n$txt[719] $member[user], $txt[492] $member[passwrd1]\n\n$txt[701]\n$scripturl?action=profile;user=" . urlencode($euser) . "\n\n$txt[130]", $webmaster_email);

Nope that does`nt work

I changed the profile to login, still keeps coming up with same link, I also removed some code, see below, and it still has the link in the E-mails it is sending out.

sendmail($member['email'], "$txt[700] $mbname", "$txt[248] $member[user]!\n\n$txt[719] $member[user]\n\n$txt[492] $member[passwrd1]\n\n$txt[701]\n$scripturl?action=login" . urlencode($member[user]) . "\n\n$txt[130]",$webmaster_email);

sendmail($member['email'], "$txt[700] $mbname", "$txt[248] $member[user]!\n\n$txt[719] $member[user]\n\n$txt[492] $member[passwrd1]\n\n$txt[701]\n\n$txt[130]",$webmaster_email);

Any more ideas

It should be this for the login:         sendmail($member['email'], "$txt[700] $mbname", "$txt[248] $member[user]!\n\n$txt[719] $member[user], $txt[492] $member[passwrd1]\n\n$txt[701]\n$scripturl?action=login\n\n$txt[130]", $webmaster_email);

Nope I have just put in the code that you posted -

sendmail($member['email'], "$txt[700] $mbname", "$txt[248] $member[user]!\n\n$txt[719] $member[user], $txt[492] $member[passwrd1]\n\n$txt[701]\n$scripturl?action=login\n\n$txt[130]", $webmaster_email);

And I am still getting -

Welcome, lily!

Your username is:  lily

and your password is 16SbH9FbG2

You may change it after you log in by going to the profile page, or by visiting this page after you log in: http://www.mjvisual.co.uk/plant/index.php?action=profile;user=lily

Since it clearly does work when you log in (I just tried it with the details you supplied for 'Lily'!), why not just change the text that says 'You are not allowed to change this person's profile' to something like 'You will have to log in before you can change your profile'?

PS That's $txt[80] in English.lng if you're looking for it!

PPS Of course, anyone trying to change someone else's profile without authorisation would see the same message, but it might still be a pragmatic solution for you.
