Anyone up for YaBB merchandise?

We're looking at getting some shirts made up for YaBB and discussed a few ways to do it.  Once we've decided on a logo and maybe some designs for shirts we want to offer them to YaBB users.

There are two way we looked at doing it.  One is Cafe Press.  The prices are already set with base prices and it can be somewhat costly with all prices in US$ as well as shipping.  However, there is a large selection of items available and you can pay online at time of purchase...

The other way is for us to get them printed here in Canada and ship them out.  However, we'd probably be limited to t-shirts at first due to cost and we'd also need to get pre-purchases first :)

What do you guys think?

cafepress seems like the simplest option to me. it is a bit costly, but if you sell enough stuff, you get a cost reduction. plus, as i said in the other thread before noticing this one, i can't see myself buying a t-shirt with the logo on it. the other items on the site yes though.

in terms of going through and outside vender with pre-orders, your jsut going to get people complaining about the time it's taking, and if something gets lost or a misorder happens, you get people sending you nasty e-mails.  althought maybe i am just misjudging people here. they may be happy to wait for a lower price product, but then you are also going to miss out on alternate product orders.

If I can pay in £'s Sterling it would be great - I don't have Visa or Mastercard but I do have Switch (debit card).

I don't think you should set up your own shop - it would far easier to use a third party. :)

A similar system to Pay Pal is No Chex (http://www.nochex.com), it's similar to Pay Pal but currently only pays out in £ Sterling, although they would probably be easier to use for UK payments. They've got a big user base and have had significant press attention - so they're worth bearing in mind.

You need someone with a UK bank account - although they plan to expand later in the year to support other countries :)

Ok.  Well we're going to pund out a logo/image based on the one that won the voting and we're going to order a "prototype".  A member here makes shirts and has a pretty neat process...
