A manual is being written as we speak.  We shall include one with YaBB SE, and include an online one which will be most up-to-date, and covers almost anything.

TODO List for Manual:
  • Getting Started
  • First Time Installation Walkthough
  • Upgrading Installation Walkthough, both previous YaBB SE and YaBB 1 Gold
  • Advanced Settings List (what they do and how to set them)
  • How to use Package Manager
  • How to use Admin Section
  • YaBB SE License (GPL)
  • A compiled list of FAQs from this board with Q & A format

That is all that is needed so far.  If anyone with lots of time, can send me a text file with any one of these things, and if they want can include screenshots, I would be most greatful.  A lot of my time is spent looking a code in YaBB SE, so I don't have the time to type it out. (plus anyone who has downloaded welcomeinc.php and has seen the readme will know that I am not good with wording things properly.)  ;)

Hi, I'm totally new to all this... is the manual finished already? can i at least see the first-time installation tutorial? ??? seriously, coz I do everything the readme says but still I can't install it :'(

Btw, I LOVE yabbse... and I'd love to be able to install it in my web site (I'l promote it everywhere I swear :D) but please help me install it first!

Also, Geocities dosen't let me upload *.php files... do I have to actually have my own server to install this?

I know! I'm such a newbie!

There is an installation tutorial contained in the ZIP files (if I remember correctly),

You don't need your own server - just one that supports PHP and MySQL - tripod do, as well as some others.

If you want more help - post in the Installer Help forum - you're more likely to get a reply.

We're working on the manual - but the coders also write the manual - we're quite busy! :)
