no, instead of it keeping data in a mysql database it keeps it in dat files or something. But still it would be php. My 'web host' ( www.host-o-rama.com ) has php on there servers but not mysql. Danm them.

i was wanting a php version flat file one so I could look at the code and learn about php more. My peice of crap webhost has php installed but not mysql. What kind of webhost is this? Anyways, I may use yaBBse for the new site im making. The site will be hosted somewere else and thank god I will get unlimited space, unlimited bandwith, mysql, php, asp, cgi, perl, etc all for free. Well im going to download YaBBSe and take a look at the code and see what I can create from it.

if you want to learn PHP using flat files goto hotscripts.com

they got tons of tutorials in PHP

but using mySQL is better because a little less code i think anyway for what i was doing

using flat files uses a little bit more code

like with flat files say you want to delete something out of a line like

something|something|blah|blah
something|something|blah|blah

it takes alot of code to delete 1 line without deleting the other

with mySQL its 1 line of code just to do a simple task  ;)

some people know what i mean  :)
