I need help, big problem.

Problem Description:
Ok, basically, I dont know exacly how to explain this, so take a look for yourself.

Thats what my board look like. I had to switch hosts, so I DLed the fourm directory to my hardrive and then attempted to re-host it onto the new my server. Apperently, something went very, very wrong.

I would apperciate any help, thanks ^^.

Download Settings.php, and search for:

/home/seiryuu

Change EVERY occurance to:

/home/seirie

And it should work...

Wow thanks dude, It got rid of the top 8 warnings or whatever. But if left the bottom one, which wasnt a huge surprize because it was different then all the other ones.

Any ideas on how to kill that last one?

The username/password you're using to connect to your MySQL server is wrong....

That would be $db_name, $db_user, $db_passwd...

i tried following the directions, trying to restore the database onto the new server, and when i ran the restore script my computer fliped out on my, a billion warnings came up on the screen.

I am really confused now. I might have something to do with the fast that i changed my account information completely when i switched hosts, idk.

So far, im back where i started -_-.

I think im half way there to restoring my database on the new server. When I run the restore script I get these error messages.

Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user: 'seiryuu_@localhost' (Using password: YES) in /home/seirie/public_html/forum/restore script.php on line 37

Warning: mysql_select_db(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/seirie/public_html/forum/restore script.php on line 39

On top of that, all the querys end up failing because no database is being selected.

Any ideas?

OK, after a full day of trying to figure this out, i really thin the problem is that my old account name, with my old host was seiryuu.

and with the new host, my account name is seirie. This was probalbley a big mistake on my part.

Does anyone knwo a way to get aaround this? You may have to look at my previous posts for clairifation.

I would apperciate anyones help on this, since i really need my board back up. Thanks ^^

The username/password you're using to connect to your MySQL server is wrong....

You may need to create a new username/password for MySQL.

IT does this thig where It puts "seirie_" infront of any name i create.

That's what it will do, so just use that.  For example, the forum you're using now uses the usename "yabbse_something".

But if the name starts with "seirie_" how am I supposed to connect to database "seiryuu_forum" and user "seiryuu_".

Its not like I can change the database info, because no matter what its going to slap a "seiryuu_" in front of it.

Well, right.  You're going to need to use the new server's login details not the old.

But, if you didn't transfer over your data... sounds like you're in trouble.  The posts are not stored in the FTP, but in the MySQL database.  You'd have to be able to login to your old server to get it.

I downloaded the dump file from the old server, and now, im trying to upload it to the new one. It is impossible to match the login information because i stupidly signed up with a different name for each server.
