Move forum to diffent host

YaBB SE Version: 1.5.5
Server Platform: Unix, Linux, or BSD
Link to Forum: http://www.boehi.ch/yabbse/index.php

Problem Description:
I would like to move my forum to a different host using CocoaMySQL on Mac OS X. So far I just got error messages and now need some help.

Problem is that the new domain has a diffent name which complicates things. I was able to move the forum before when switching hosts using the same domain but now I would also change the name of the domain.

Old domain was (is) boehi.ch - new will be baby-united.ch. I did a CocoaMySQL dump from the old site, installed a fresh forum on the new host and uploaded the dump again (trying to upload with the new forum installed and after having deleted all the tables before) but it just doesn't give me the forum the way it was before. The boards are not there and lots of error messages are generated after the upload of the dump.

Any advice how to move my forum is appreciated. Thanks!

Peter

Well, I'm not familiar with CocoaMySQL, but I don't think that's your problem...

Settings.php is probably the key here, because you can edit it by hand to take care of this sort of stuff (with only the attachments upload path and URL being separately defined in the DB).

Please see this recent topic for further advice:

I managed to move my forum but it took me some trial and error to succeed. It worked by dumping the forum (inserts and structure) using the feature from the admin center of YaBBSE which downloads a file to your computer. I uploaded this file to the root directory of my new host and imported the content of this file to an empty database (using the database tools offered by my new host). I just had to edit the settings file a little bit and everything worked flawlessly.
