Unable to run shell to execute mail delivery!!!

Problem Description:
Ok Guys.

Think this maybe something simple but i can't work it out at the moment. Several of our members have reported getting the following message when they try and post to a running topic.

2: mail(): Permission denied: unable to execute shell to run mail delivery binary
(/home/www/rcmodelf/4um/Sources/Subs.php ln 443)


Any idea what we/the server has done to start this off, seems the posts still get through but some get the message. I have not been able to replicate the error myself. I turned off the email notification to see if that would stop the error but it is a function a lot of people use so i hope it is not that.

I really can't help you unless I know if you're on Windows or *nix. (the server, not your computer.)

I'd say *nix given the path to subs.php and the http header

No idea of the problem though but sounds like some "hosty" type one to me.
