[Beta 1.4.0-1.5.2] MobileYaBB 1.0

This mod makes an html version of your forum for viewing on a cell phone. I'll start on a wap version once I'm done with the html version. Most wap browsers will show the forum just fine.

A lot of people have been emailing me to get this down so I have a working beta uploaded now. There will be more work done on this. While it works now there are still many improvements that can be made. I also need to spend more time shrinking the file sizes down.

Upgrades will be easy, and will just involve overwriting a few files so feel free to install and test this. As always make a db backup first. This isn't really a mod since you are basically creating a new forum that uses the same database.

Instructions:
Installation is simple.

1. Copy your existing Yabb folder to a new directory, ie www.yoursite.com/YaBBMobile
2. Change file permissions to match regular YaBB
3. Replace the files in the dir with those in the zip.
4. Edit the settings.php file to include your database username,password,and change all the url's to reflect your installation.

I'd really like to implement this mod on my board (that handles about mobile phones and accessories).

I have a Nokia3650, and would love to be able to go to the board whenever there is no PC around  

It should be very "light" though, because via GPRS you pay per Mb's used, and WAP is rather expensive.....

Hey Webby, I wrote up a WAP/wml viewer for my secret project.... care to tell me how it looks on a real cell phone?  (I've only seen/tried it on fake ones... :/.)

And, goosemoose... I'm willing to provide help if you want any for the wml.

Excellent feature!  I don't have a way to try it - but I would use it once it's stable if my users were in favor of it.

I would guess WML.  Remember that bandwidth gets VERY expensive on cell phones.

I'd love to see a wap version, very "gimmicy" but would be bloody brilliant.

Plus I get 300 free wap minutes a month so I could post some drunken posts from the pub

Bah, get Sprint PCS. I get unlimited "vision" for $10 a month. I even hook it up to my laptop and use it as a dsl speed modem sometimes (not supposed to do that though). So I don't have to worry about bandwith. Eventually everyone will have the same deal I'm sure.

Same here, I hope this mod comes out soon.

Well I do the same thing with my sprint phone and they have not said anything to me yeat.  But when I connect I only get a 14.4 connection with my laptop so I only use it for emergencies.
