problems staying connected

I read all the cookie discussions but I am a complete noob. can someone tell me why after I sucessfully logon as admin or reg user if I hit any other link such as admin tools it sets me back to guest.

I have renamed the cookie several times with no effect.  is there more to setting up the cookie other than adjusting the name? again this is my first try at setting up Yabbse or any forum software. possibly something I need to setup outside of yabbse?

any help would be appreciated

this is a tottally new project for me.

I FTP'ed everything that was in the 1.5.1 distrabution. I dont think I missed anything. is there a file you think I might be missing?

since the install.php script ran without a hitch I assume all the files were uploaded.  if it would help I could post my settings.php.  if there is anything you think is fishy let me know I will look for the missing file. sorry for being such a noob my goal is to try and setup a good blog site with forums.

Although this probably isn't it.... you may wish to have your server's time corrected.

As of this post, it says:

April 11, 2003, 08:00:08 PM

Which is about 30 minutes off.

I am not sure the problem is in the installation but possibly the settings. I am having similar problems with another piece of software.

excuse this noob question but is there anything I need to do to setup the cookie on my site other than naming it? Do I need to put a file together for what information is in the cookie?

Is it the newest 1.5.1?  The only thing I could think of was the load.php cookie error in the earlier version, but that was fixed in the new version.
