Thin Blue Line (where is it?)
« on: February 20, 2003, 02:44:24 AM »

I have been reTheming yaBBse and I cannot find where to change the thin blue (#5294DE) line that appears close to signatures in posts and in signatures in PMs. Does anyone know where the code is to change this line. I am using a lot of greens, and this blue line is getting to me. Thanks for any pointers.

I don't have the answer you are hoping for but I can tell you two things:

1. there is no #5294DE nowhere in any Yabb file to be found. Did you get the hex code right in this post?

2. thin lines are usually either <hr> or tables (either borders of tables or actual cells with a 1x1 pixel transparent gif to make the cell look like a border) so what you are looking for can probably be found in the template's stylesheet.

Please note that my two points, especially no.1, are true and meant to be true about the very latest version 1.5.1 build 42.

If I can help you further let me know.

Well, I have tried replacing all hex color codes in the style sheet of the latest Yabbse. And so far, those lines still show blue. I found out that the hex code is of the 1x1 pixel gif file that is for the BAR graph of how many posts have been made. So I will have to find out the hex code of the blue line I am seeing. I thought that bar.gif file was for the blue line, but it's not. So... hmmm. Still searching...

looking at the souce code for this page there is this line that will create a thin blue line above the signature.

<hr width="100%" size="1" class="windowbg3" style="color: #6394BD" />

As Andrea suggested change the color in windowbg3.

Well, the windowbg3 setting in the style sheet was set to black background and white text. So I don't think that is what controls it.

look about 2 posts above you. I already posted the link. Though it no longer matters now. I have found it. Turns out there is more color codes available in the "forum settings and Preferences", so I have it all set now. Thanks for the differrent ideas.

Exactly, the windowbg3 must be set in the css (template.php) and the general board settings (Settings.php) as well. The same of course for all color entries with are in the template and the board settings as well. People often overlook this.

Before I found the other location for editing. I was only aware of the css template under "Edit Your Forum Template"
But now I know that there are more color options under:
"Forum Preferences and Settings" right below the above link on the admin page. For some reason I thought ALL color codes were going to be in the template location. But now I know. So pretty straight forward now. Thanks for all the quick suggestions though.

So does that solve your issue or is the line still blue?

yeah, the problem is solved. The color code for that signature line, the news fader, and some other little areas were located under "Forum settings and Prefferences", before that I only knew of the Template and thought all color coding was in there. But now can control all the colors between the 2 locations.
