There are currently a handful of portals that function with YaBB SE.

CyberCMS: http://www.microcyb.com/
YaPP: http://yapp.phpworld.net/index.php
PfaBB:  http://pfabb.lunabyte.com/

Those are the existing ones with at least 3 in the works now as well.

Does postnuke work with YaBBSE? The main requested feature is the members sharing between them. Is there a way to do so?

you would have to port yabb as a module.meaning redesignate the call scripts and such. a big hassle =/.. tried it and took me awhile .. i think someone is actually making a module of yabb i think it is out at sourceforge

hi i'd just like to mention that YaBB works fine with http://e107.org/ as this uses a 'wrapper' plugin that allows any script to be rendered inside the cms. you have to see it to see how well it works :)

He said it uses a wrapper, which I'm assuming means that any forum software should work within the portal application. It has nothing to do with YaBB SE except for the fact that YSE or any other forum software should work within the portal. At least, thats what I gather from it.

However, that doesn't necessarily mean that YaBB SE can be integrated with the portal to actually share features (i.e. member login), which I believe the portals on Jeff's original list actually do, or are supposed to be able to do.

I haven't played with ttCMS, but I have played with YaPP. YaPP may not have had all the features of a full blown cms/portal, but it had great potential. One of its best features was allowing PHP code in your blocks and pages, and that gave us a lot of flexibility. Especially to add features YaPP didn't have.

I've kind of adopted YaPP and am adding features to it slowly. I've also discovered the beauty of iframes. Stick an iframe in a page for a script installed elsewhere on your site, but not integrated, and whaddya know? It looks integrated.... well, it would if I got around to changing its color scheme. :)

The ability to add PHP, or even <yabb tags> into a block or page with little effort, is not to be underestimated. My version of YaPP is now called PfaBB, and you can see it in action in the link below.

Have fun, Michele

Since it is under the GPL it is perfectly legal.

from what I've seen so far, ttcms seems to have the most features and has a lot going for it, like here: http://www.ttcms.com/modules/ajDocsPro/index.php?op=view&t=2 ... do all the other CMSs offer these features as well?  Why is it that YaPP is so much more popular?

to be honest, I've often wondered the same thing.
