Karma Problems

Just converted my board (SP1 over to SE).

Only have 130ish members but over 19000 posts.

Everything seems to have worked ok... apart from the Karma.

Every user now seems to have default to +127 karma, and I no one seems to be able to appaud or smite!? Well you can but it doesnt change the 127. Although the time restriction works?!

I have check the karma settings and they seem ok.

Any ideas anyone??

It seems that only those members who had more that 99 Karma before the conversion are effected.

The users who had less than 99 seem to be ok..

the ones over 99 have been set to 127.. and i can not smite nore aplaud them

I would run an SQL query that resets everyone's karma to 0.  Hopefully that will fix all your problems.

I just reset a few of the members who had 127 karma to 0.. and karma works fine.

But as soon as they reach 127... it wont go any higher?

Is this normal??

I'm not fimiliar enough with the Karma system to give you a definate answer but I doubt it is suppossed to stop at 127.

It does seem that my SE board has an upper limit of 127.

If i import from my Gold board any user over 127 karma gets reset to 127.. all over users are fine.

But I cannot add any more than 127 to any user.

Could someone clarify this? Is it just me?  :)

it is entirely possible that there is a cap.  Check the karma table...if it has tinyint as the field type then 127 is in fact the limit.

Excuse me, I made a mistake.  Look at the members table, you will notice that the karmagood and karmabad fields use tinyint, change that to mediumint and see if that helps.

Yep, that sorted it. Changed good and bad to mediumint.. did another convert.. and everything came across fine!

Thanks for your speedy reply :-)

My members (well those who had over 127 good karma also thank you) :-)
