I'm currently using phpBB2 for my forum but I'm not really satisfied with it it, so I would like to use phpBB2, of at least try it, but I don't want to lose my current posts, so I'm looking for a converter from phpBB2 to YaBBSE. Does anyone know if it's available somewhere?

Well, at least that's a short answer :)

I guess I have to convert everything manually. That's not too many work since my forum wasn't too big.

YaBB 1 Gold of course - but that converter exists.

I would really like to come up with a YSE to Y1G converter just for completeness sake.  I don't like a 1-way migration route.  It's very unsatisfying.

Compuart, you might wanna re-read my last post again because I said Y1G and not YSE.  And, yeah, there is a such thing as a phpBB2 to Y1G convertor since Joseph Fung said:

I think you should re-read the whole topic again because I think you might of missed something here since you're not getting the point.

Anyway, DarkPipo was talking about a phpBB2 convertor and Shoeb Omar replied, "no."

DarkPipo then said that he was going to convert it manually and then Joseph Fung replied, "Although that would be my second choice for a converter.."

groundup asked, "and your first?" and Joseph Fung replied YaBB 1 Gold of course - but that converter exists.


So, if Joseph Fung was talking about a Y1G to YSE convertor then he was getting off-topic.  Plus, they were talking about a phpBB2 convertor still and I don't see where they started talking about a Y1G to YSE convertor, PERIOD.

Why would a founder of YSE have a phpBB->YSE converter as his second choice and a phpBB->Y1G converter as his first....doesn't make sense  ;D
