Help with a few colors?

Hey all,
I've been a member of various YaBB boards b4, but I'm trying to set my own up, and I'm having a few problems!

My main problem is that none of my Forum Preferences/Settings will save changes to them!  Any ideas?

My second, and more superficial problem is, on the General Discussion page, all the text descriptions of different kinds of posts, i.e. Sticky Topic, Locked Topic, dont show up against my background and I can't figure for the life of me how to change them!

Please take a look and tell me whatcha think I should do!

hehehehe   i see.. i was wondering where the text was i thought i was blind for a sec  ... It Seems To Me

1) Permission problem make sure all files are 666 and folders 777 i believe... hm...i think thats what i did when i had this problem  ....

2)about the text are using a css template? if so you need to alter them that way in template.php.. Just find the recording text that shows white and toy with it to fit your needs  .. If That Doesnt Work I Think I Need To Go Back To Html studies and brush up on simple color layouts

ARGH!  None of my CHMOD commands stick with the files!

And I need to brush up on my HTML skills, cuz I'm having a hellofatime trying to get this one text to change...
