I want to add a logo above the home/profile etc links at the top of a board

just edit ur template.html.. find <yabb menu> and just put ur stuff up there

I have tried putting it everywhere in the template and it still wont work

the template manager only edits template.html, make sure you don't have template.php in your directory.
