Problem accessing forum settings from admin

Hi,

I've installed YaBBSE twice and had a lot of probs.

This time the error is the following when trying to go to the forum settings from Admin.

2: Unable to create 'Settings.bak': Permission denied
(/home/psmeg/public_html/yabbse/Sources/Admin.php ln 805)

Also, for some reason I am unable to CHMOD ANY of the PHP files or PL files.

Any help would be appreciated.

Create the file Settings.bak manually, (make sure its spelt correctly: Settings.bak) nothing has to be in it.

and you have to CHMOD the file to 777.


But now why are you unable to CHMOD? is it your server of just your FTP client?

In the release that comes out shortly, we handle the Settings file differently so that people shouldn't croak on this when it craps out

Will the new release have alot of updates to the point where I will have to reinstall it or will there be a update script?

We're hoping to offer both.  Some people will opt to just overwrite all their sources (leaving their data in tact mind you, some may want to try a package manager file...we'll see how time goes.
