Project / Check off list Mod idea

I wonder if anyone can make a Project/check off list. Let say users want to see what projects we are up to and the status of them they can click on a link to go to a page that has a list of current projects and status of them. And who work on the project. You can set member groups or admin's to be able to add to the list but admin's only one can remove them from list.

For Example:

You can click on user name to get there profiles, if project unassigned member can click on it to take the project. Completed task has a link to the project. maybe even add a description of what the project in the above example? Or an dilly on how important "priority/urgency" the task is. Admin panel user just has to click a box and hit save to update status of their project, etc. This is an idea maybe we can build on this some how. Throw your 2 cents in peeps. I think this type mod can be useful to admin a site with multiply projects/users. Such as this site with all the mods/mod developers.

Anyone want to assign themselves the task?

This is an excellent idea - I was wondering whether we could have a board set up for all developers and mod writers where we each have a topic with our name as the title. We could then edit our posting to keep people informed of what we are doing and how we are doing.

If we could delete posts for that topic it would be like our own little home page!

LOL but I want this mod too. Wish I knew PHP. I want to use it for projects around my site such as Reviews, How To's, Etc. It will have a lot of uses for people. You guys I see it for Mod creators, maintenance/board updates, etc. I can use it for game reviews, site pages, etc. I sure others might have use for it.

I think it should only be available to certain global moderators/admin's who work on the site. These way regular members/guest cant mess with it. but can view it to see what going on with the site or send you an IM if they are interested in helping.

Well after some major projects I think I will try and take some classes on PHP maybe then I can help give back to YaBB SE mod Development.

I think anything makes a site more organized, is always a plus.

If this can't be made a mod maybe it should be a seperate scripit availabe for anyone. Seperate from yabb, but it be nice if it was yabb intergrated.

Hmm, a seperate script (non-integrated) I could probably do.. if I weren't already swamped!

I have a major project already in trying to merge and share the member records for two intentionally seperate forums, and I'm working on the RPG Mod somewhat with SCX... also I'm building a D&D 3rd Edition Online Character Sheet Database for SaintEhlers.Com (an awesoe message board role playing site, even though it runs off UBB) ... and I have my hands full working on the rest of the backend for Smoking Monkey Studios including a site-wide User Authentication system that is compatible with YaBB SE and accesses YSE's member records... and on top of all this I'm the dialogue writer for Smoking Monkey's upcoming adventure game.

And I work 40 hours per week. Yikes.. no, I dont think I'll be doing this Mod any time soon, no matter how badly I want it. *Sigh*
