SYSOP, YaBB SE is a port from the YaBB Gold project which Patrick Clinger originally based ProBoards off of, and thus some parts of the look may be the same.  Not only is ProBoards written in Perl and YaBB SE in PHP but there are many other differences as well.  In the future it would be nice for you to do a little more research before claiming that we have ripped any code; it is quite insulting.

This is Patrick Clinger from ProBoards.com.

First off, I would like to say that YaBB SE has nothing to do with ProBoards.  Their code is completely different from our own - as you can see, they use PHP and we use Perl.

ProBoards.com originally started in January of 2000, using our own non-threaded system similar to Matt Wright's WWW Board (ProBoards Version 1).  Later on, we switched over to YaBB Gold (not YaBB SE).  From there, we decided to recode the entire system on our own, which was what is known as ProBoards Version 2.  It was announced on June 11, 2002.  We used YaBB gold for a little less than a year.  Version 2 was our break from YaBB, from which point we have nothing in common now besides a similar look of our forums (and now we are coming up on version 4).  There are now hundreds of differences between YaBB and ProBoards, which you can see just by going to both forums and looking around.  We are two separate products, run by different companies.
