well, it works on my test board, but as Unknown said I maybe wrong, I still gotta test this on a NIX system, I havent got time, anyway Ill update this mod pretty soon with more feautres. Sorry for those bugs, because its just my first time to write a mod. :\

use timeformat() or formattime(), i don't remember which (the yabb se function in subs.php)
it will do the date-time format and timzone adjustment

I believe its using the server time, not the local time. You can toggle the date format in the admin panel though.

EDIT: I saw your test board, you can also edit the CSS file of the shoutbox to blend with the color of your yabbse board. Go to your YaBBSE Administration CP and you should see a link there regarding your shoutbox settings.

Well, I did change the date format... that's working fine... And I already know about the CSS thing... How do you think I got the links to change colors and got that background color at the bottom to blend in so well? I may hold off on installing it until you get the time thing fixed... I want it to pick up the default forum time, not the server time... (for guests the time would be the local forum time, for users it would be whatever their time is)...

Ok... I figured out that it is using the server time and the time zone is GMT...

Hmm... It appears that my host has their server set for GMT, because I have adjusted all my board's time settings for that... Still doesn't make much sense since their data center is in the US...

OK I'm very new at this as you will soon be able to tell, I installed the mod.
The shout box shows the following:

This is what you change in thebox/thebox.php file.
I also found I had to install thebox directory in the yabbse folder or the shout box would show a 404 error

include_once("../Settings.php");
include_once("../$sourcedir/Subs.php");
include_once("../$sourcedir/Load.php");

Should be:

include_once("../Settings.php");
include_once("$sourcedir/Subs.php");
include_once("$sourcedir/Load.php");

Remember that $sourcedir is the ABSOLUTE path.  Even if you just have it as "Sources", most people have it set correctly.
