Unable to use the provided database, yabbse! in step 3

Problem Description:
I am using the installer and I get to step 3, it stops with this error:

Unable to use the provided database, yabbse!
Please double check this information, and try again. Remember, some hosts add a prefix to your database name.

I've contacted my webhost, aplus.net about this and they haven't come up with anything.  They're telling me to check with yabbse about the problem.  Any help??  PLEASE!  Thank you.

What is your database name?  On some hosts, your database will be your username for cpanel, or it will have your username as a prefix to the database.

i used my ftp username as the directory and it worked!  thank you
