I'd go for the latest stable, which is 2.5.3 (I'm running that on my test server at home). But, unless you're your own host, I'd double-check that it's not already installed before you even go that far.

Should be able to click export.  They do, you know, have support - over at www.phpmyadmin.net - and they can tell you how to get a database dump. (it's a really common thing.)  It's probably even in their FAQ.

Sorry, I don't run phpMyAdmin support, nor do I know it well enough to pretend to.  Would you rather I tell you something and be wrong - possibly deleting your database - or would you rather you got the support from the source and did it the sure fire way?

I make no promises when it comes to software I don't know well - sorry.

The default settings *should* do the job:

Just select the correct DB from the drop-down in the LH menu frame, select 'export' from the top menu in the main frame, check 'Save as file' and hit 'Go'! ::)

Since you've already told us that you have a DB error, please bear in mind that this will be still be present in the exported .sql file, but I'm working on the assumption that a dumped DB with error(s) is better than no DB at all!

What is this database error?  Have you tried repairing your tables yet?
