Threads with attachments take forever to access

Problem Description:
After a lot of experimenting, I realized the problem with my board was the attachments.

When I click on any normal message thread, it opens instantly. For example,

However, if the thread contains any attachment, the page takes forever to load and I often get timeout errors. Check this thread out, for example.

What causes this problem?

I can view the attached files instantly in the attachment manager, but when I view them within the thread, the delays occur.

installed mods settings and options > disable any image width/height restrictions.

Both values are 0.. didn't help at all.

Could it be because I have a corrupted index.php in my \YaBBSE\attachments directory?

What's the purpose of this file anyway? Is it supposed to contain a list of files in the attachment directory?

All my message threads with images embedded via the [ img ] tag display fine, but if I used the dialog box to attach an image, they refuse to display now.

Okay, I've realized the problem is entirely graphic-attachment related.

When I attach a non-graphic file, ie a txt file, to a msg, I can upload and view it just fine.

When I upload or view a message with a graphic attachment, both uploading and viewing it take forever.

May I know if YaBBSE is doing any kind of processing on graphic files that are uploaded? That could be the root of the problem.

Only if the settings you were told to change are not set to 0.

I'm getting the same problem on my board, two different hosts, the same thing.

I goto upload an attachment and it'll sit there forever, eventually it'll do it
Then whenever I click on that thread with the picture, it'll hang the entire boards for everyone

Please post your issue on a brand new thread, instead of replying to someone else's.  Each person's server configs are different, though the problems may be identical.
