how do we disable "View Ten Most recent Posts" thing at the bottom, I have chosen inmy preferences "cisable recent posts" but it's still there.

Did you save your Forum Preferences and Settings after you selected 'Disable recent posts' from the drop-down menu?

Just realised we might be talking at cross purposes...

If you mean the link to the 10 most recent posts (and not the 'Enable multiple posts' option, which displays links to the 5 most recent posts), that's part of the SP1 style statistics:

Try unchecking Installed 'Mods' Settings and Options -> Enable SP1 style statistics on board index, but be warned it affects more than just than that one link!
