Multiple Passwords

I currently use the YaPP/YaBB SE system and recently the script emailed up to 40 new passwords to each member on the site at once. It did this randomly...anyone know why?

It is most likely a troublesome user trying to annoy people. All they have to do is fill in the username and it reset's the password and sends an e-mail to that member with the password.

That would explain it for the one member, however, it did that to ALL members listed as members. Even me, the admin, got a new password.

It isn't that hard to make a script to do this. I could build a script that makes it e-mail all members new passwords. Chances are they did something like that.

And are you sure it was ALL members? It might not have been EVERY member, just certain ones that he may have chosen.

To be honest Chris, I can't say if it did ALL that way. Sorry for going Jerry Springer there for a moment. But, it has been happening recently and I don't know why. This AM I received 18 emails back to back with 18 different PW's. I had to use the latest one to get onto my board. It was annoying to say the least. Some of the 30+ members online now said it happened to them too.

Well this has happened before to us at the old YaPP board... it was a troublesome user by the name of Scorpion, he had them sent to alot of users including the admins. We had to disable the forgot password stuff completely by deleting the file... stopped him... but then people who forget their passwords can't get back in.
