Disable Ip /email issue

how do i disable so that the poster's ip wont show of in their profile.....and second my email thing is not working every user that registers doesnt get their respective email or when they've forgotten their password it wont mail it back to them....Mandrake 9.1 thanx in advanced..

Have you checked the mail settings in the admin area? Have you tried sending mail from other PHP scripts, to see if the PHP settings are correct?
