Okay, we got the board installed, now combatting the log in issue.  I can log in, but it won't keep me logged in.  Changed cookies name accordingly, deleted my cookies and still cannot stay logged in.

I have done all steps required.  David, videoland said you installed his boards, were there any tricks you had to do with his server?

It's also interesting to note that when I logged in, and then logged out, I got the following error:

Session check failure. Please try again.

the session path is identified in php.ini (according to phpinfo.php.

This is a brand new install with an imported database.  All paths are correct.  1.5.1 Final (due to php Version requirements).

1.5.1 final will not work on 4.06.

He'll have to try an RC1.  Try installing RC1B45....

Between working on this for videoland, working on a client's server/site and dealing with my own forums and server issues today, I am totally wonkay'd out.  I've got an install of 1.51RC45 installed, but am startin' to be at a loss here.  Still getting that session timed out error, prior to that, with 1.5.1 final, it seemed to be a cookies issue.

Now I find out that the backup he gave me includes MD5'd passwords.  I'm at a loss here.  It's installing just fine, but seems to go kaput when I restore the backup files.  Can't even request a password reset.

Ideas, please?

Well, I don't know exactly what happened, but I did manage to get the installation part working, and David fixed the log in issue, which is more important, IMHO.  My hat's off to David for his help.
