Merge 2 threads not topics

Hi! I was wondering if there is a way to merge threads rather than topics. The reason why I'm asking this is that sometimes my users posts in the same thread consecutively. They could just be elaborating on the previous posts but they cannot edit their previous posts because I set a time frame in which they can edit their posts.

I tried to search in the forum but all I turned up is what is already in the script which is to merge 2 topics together.

How do you differentiate between a thread a topic?  YaBBSE does not.

Yes, that's what I mean. For example, user post a message (thread) then 5 minutes later as he cannot edit his posts, he post another message under the same topic.

How to then merge those 2 messages?

well moderators can copy and paste the message manually, then delete the new message

To clarify, we use messages/posts for what you call "threads' and use threads/topics for what you are calling "topics".

I've always just edited and copied/pasted like this:

message 2
