1.5.1 Login/Cookie Bug?

Hello..

I have been having a headache of a problem with 1.5.1 and staying logged in.   It seems to have been an issue in the past with version < 1.5.*,  But from what I've read, most of these problems should have been fixed in 1.5.1.

Is this correct?

I haven't started digging though the code yet.  However I think I have at least narrowed the problem down a bit, or at least to a certain bit of code.

If I follow the "login" link on the navigation bar (http://temp.yavinrebels.com//index.php?board=;action=login).  I am not logged in correctly, and if I go to another page I get logged out.  However, if I log in via the user/pass boxes at the very bottom of the forum.  The log in works fine.  I can move around, and log in/out as other users with out problems.  Is this a known issue perhaps?

Is there something I'm over looking?

My Boards are at http://temp.yavinrebels.com if anyone would like to take a gander.

Aside from this annoyance, these look like great forums.

If 1.5.0 works.... you should go back to 1.5.1 and fix your $cookiename in Settings.php.

We do not provide support for 1.5.0 (aka unsupported versions.) of YaBB SE.

I have never used 1.5.0.  Just jumped on board with 1.5.1.  Going to look at the code here and a sec, and worst case senerio I'll roll back to 5.0.

Actually.. after digging around I found out that my date was set to 2002  :-\ *hangs head in shame*.

So when I used the bottom login, it defaults the time value to "forever".  "Forever" being programed as + 31536000 secs, or 1 year.  So with my PC being slightly behind the servers time.  I was getting a cookie that expired in about 5 minutes.  Giving the appearance that I was getting a good session, and that the form on the bottom of the page was working correctly, the form on the top not working correctly.

Guess thats what I get for using a box that some one else built.  :P

I should'a said something.... as I did here :P:
QuoteWhen I/my users login without selecting 'always stay logged in', we get automatically logged out.  How can I fix this?

You need to change the forum time offset in your control panel - it is not set correctly.

Actually it was the system date on the server that was causing the problem.  Not my local machine.
