Hi. I hope this is the right place for this.

I have a board at http://www.silverroad.org/forum/

My host just updated their systems or whatever it is they do, and they shortened my username. So, thinking it would fix it, I tried to install it again, but instead of fixing the settings, it now shows a blank form.

I went into my databases and the old info is still there, I just need to rescue it. I have no idea how. Can anyone help?

Thanks,

bob

Check your database name and prefix.  Make sure they are the same as your old ones.

The prefix is now different, because it's my username and they changed my username, but the data is still in the tables.

I put the new prefix into the installer, but now I'm getting a blank board, as if I had just installed it, which I guess I technically have.

I was wondering if there's a way to just start over, but to import the data from the tables or to incorporate those data tables into a new forum structure. I hope I'm not talking out of my ass.

Thanks

If you can access your old data in phpMyAdmin, you can use that database/prefix.  If you do so, everything should go back to normal.

So that's just using the installer as if I were installing it for the first time?

No.  Do it in Forum Preferences and Settings.
