News Fader

I've got a few questions about the news fader. I finally figured out how to make it work (yes, it took me this long, mainly because of how the "items" color and "title" color are both set to the same color by default so nothing was showing up). I'm using the Color Pro template, and I want to change the way the box looks to make the colors flow more smoothly. However, I can't seem to get it to really change anything other than the text color. (link - http://forum.oldiesmann.us). Any ideas?
