Is there any chance that I would be able to take a peek at the source of your button generator? ;D I would be really interested - not to steal your work, but to learn how it's done. I've wasted hours attempting png editing, but it never seems to work. I just need to see one working example, that's all.(btw, GD is enabled in php, just to get that out of the way before you ask. :P)

Ok, it does now. You will need to check the "Full Unicode" box to enable Chinese characters.

It should be! (Although, If you read my first post, you'll notice that I may not be able to keep it up 24/7 since it's being hosted from my laptop, which I do have to take with me, and thus, disconnect from the internet)

Update:

I've just finished all the coding for "Version 2". This version allows you to far more accurately control the colors that are used on the button.

You can control:
  • Background color
  • Text color
  • Gradient start color
  • Gradient end color
  • Gradient angle
  • Border (stroke) color
The same selection of icons is available as before, but I haven't yet had time to convert the longer buttons to the new format, and there is only currently one style for the small buttons. I will add the long buttons for both large and small sizes later.

Any bugs, comments, suggestions for new styles/features, please post them here.

The link is:

Enjoy!

Have I got something wrong ? I made a very nice set of button with this eminent generator (older version), but the alternate bg/bg2 sets only show up with the #1 background color ?

Please confirm they should be saved as separate files, like this

If somebody'd care have a look, check out some thread at www.md80.net .

Thanks in advance !

That is correct. However, you also need to install the mod to ensure that it uses the "_bg2" versions in the correct places. If you're running either YaBBSE 1.5.0 or 1.5.1 then you can download the zip files containing the mod from the same location as the generator itself. If you're using a higher (or indeed lower) version than the two mentioned previously, then if you can wait until about the end of the weekend, then I'll put together a mod for version 1.5.4, and put it on the site too.

Thanks, Iridium a bunch !!! Yes, I am on 1.5.2. I assume your new script will also solve the problem that my merge buttons also don't appear (though the splits surprisingly do).

Update:

I've updated the mod for YaBBSE 1.5.4, and it's now available to download from the site.

Quicklink: http://yabbg.dyndns.org/AAImages_1.5.4.zip

You say that you're running 1.5.2, however, since only 2 of the files that are changed in the mod have been changed since 1.5.1, there should be no problem with installing the 1.5.4 mod on a 1.5.2 board, but as with any mod, backup all the replaced files first. (It's probably worth upgrading your whole board to 1.5.4 anyway since there are no doubt some security fixes in it)

I saw a post in this thread asking about source for the button generator project but I saw no response.  Is the code or examples of implementation available for that project?  If not are there any sites you would recommend to get up to speed to implement a similar application myself?  I appreciate any advice or information you might provide.
