Title Problems

I fixed the problem with the safe mode errors in case you were wondering. Turns out that Lycos is a safe-mode php server and I didn't install the safe-mode version. Now that that's fixed, I have a new problem. My messageboard title is "Oldiesmann's Messageboard", but it always wants to put a \ before the apostrophe, so it shows up as "Oldiesmann\'s Messageboard". How do I fix this?

Ok. It's still not co-operating. First, when I click to update the news, instead of going back to the admin center, it takes me to the main lycos.co.uk page. Second, when I put a " or ' in the title or news, it puts a \ in front of it. How do I fix this?

You mean I can't keep it from doing that? There has to be a way. I'm still investigating other options, but for now, my board is going to be on lycos (I've still got the boardnation board and will keep it until I decide the final location for my board).

Sounds like there needs to be a stripslashes(); put in some place.  I've not had a chance to study the code completely, but that's definitely the fix.  Perhaps one of the more experienced coding gurus could identify where to place that.

Have you opened up the settings.php in notepad, and changed them there?
