500 Internal Server Error

I just installed YaBB SE 1.3 in my site.  After some MySQL problems, I finally got it running.  However, the converter script only gives me a 500 server error.  What could be causing this?

php has internal server error 500..?

I don't know if PHP has them or not but I was getting them.

But the strange thing is that I later found that I actually did not have the converter script.  I got it from the 1.0 version, uploaded and viola!!  Board converted.
